After months of having our beer brewed at the now defunct General Lafayette Inn & Brewery, we finished installation of a brewery which is our very own in October of 2010. Our 20 Barrel (BBL) brewhouse comes from the Virginia Brewing Company. Sadly, they never even had a chance to brew on it before going out of business. Both the Mash/lauter tun and brew kettle/whirlpool of the DME brewhouse are steam jacketed for heating which provides us with the ability to do step infusions for particular styles of beer. Going from 5 gallons at home, to 210 gallons (7 BBL) at the General Lafayette, to 620 gallons (20 BBL) gives use room to make plenty of beer to keep up with demand.
We spent 2011 honing in our recipes and internal processes and in 2012 started bottling our beers. We were the first craft brewery to use fully enclosed 6-pack boxes. Not only are they light tight and better for our beer, but they negate having to use mother cartons and therefore are better for the environment.
Our taproom opened in July of 2011 and you can join us 7 days a week for pints of our beer, PA made wine, bar fare and gourmet hot dogs! You can learn more about our taproom on the taproom page.
We are currently available in Pennsylvania in the following counties: Philadelphia, Delaware, Chester, Bucks, Montgomery, Burks, Lancaster, Lebanon, Lehigh, & Northampton. Watch for our New Jersey invasion in the coming weeks!
